Rockabillys Break Losing Streak in Pitching Duel
The Jackson Rockabillys take a close 3-2 win over the Thrillbillies led by some excellent pitching performances for the Goats.
Cole Cates stepped on the rubber for the first time after his All-Star appearance and did not disappoint. 7 innings of 2 run baseball while striking out 9 batters made for an excellent line for Cates. Ryder Harville and Elias Hachem stepped into the game to finish the job both pitching a scoreless inning a piece.
Priester carried the offense yet again with 2 hits as well as scoring the winning run after a wild throw to third that he hustled home to propel the Rockabillys to victory. Peyton Woods, Zavier Hatfield, and Garner Anderson also slashed base hits to give the Rockabillys their 5 hits on the night.
The Goats have an off day today before packing the bus to head to Cape Girardeau to play the Catfish who are still undefeated in the second half and working on the current second longest winning streak in Prospect League history.
