Goats Take 2 In Doubleheader to Win First Series of the Year
The Goats Advance to 4-1 after taking both from the River Dragons with scores of 7-4 and then 4-2.
Game one of tonight's double header picked up in the bottom of the fourth inning, all tied up, but the Alton pitching staff struggled to keep the ball across the plate yesterday as only 3 of the Rockabillys 7 runs were earned. Ugly wins count the same in the win column as Manager Matty Holem is ecstatic for his guys, who secured their first series victory.
The pitching did their job as Cole Cates and Karson Lindsey got the wins. Cates came into a pressure situation of runners at first and third with only one down, getting out with no harm done.
Jackson was also ruthless on the basepaths, and Zavier Hatfield added 7 bags to his total in the two contests. He brings his total for the year to 13 as he finds himself a quarter of the way to the Prospect League Record of 52 through his first 5 games.
The Rockabillys finish their homestand tonight at 7pm against Alton as Bluey and Bingo will be hanging out at the ball park. Come join your dog's favorite TV show characters as they cheer on the Rockabillys!
