Rockabillys Halted in Loss to Hoots

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Goats held a lead for a while against their interdivisional foes, but the firepower of the visitors was simply too much, and O'Fallon would take the final meeting between the two squads this season 8-1.

Newcomer Brock Tapper got the start on the bump for the 'Billys and looked solid in his first outing, going five innings, allowing one earned run and striking out four. At the point Tapper exited, the Goats had garnered a lone run thanks to a Drew Ripepi sacrifice fly that scored Adriel Vega

So, with the game all knotted up at one a piece in the sixth, the Goats felt good about their prospects of taking home the season series against O'Fallon. Instead, the Hoots compiled seven unanswered runs over the next three innings, and forced Jackson to cycle through three different pitchers.

The Rockabillys could only sit and watch as their hopes of a series win over O'Fallon washed away. The bats were silenced and only three Rockabillys collected hits in the game, compared to the 11 base knocks collected by O'Fallon.

With the game far out of reach, and the bats sluggish, Jackson had no room to comeback and dropped the finale against the Hoots.

Immediate Impact

Despite the loss, some new faces contributed to keep the Rockabillys within reach. We've seen solid performances from Drew BlalockGregory Berroa, Tapper, and Ripepi, which surely is a good sign for a 'Billys group that is looking for some energy.
