JACKSON ROCKABILLYS BRING ABOARD JOHN HUNT AS EXECUTIVE VP
Jackson, Tenn. - The Jackson Rockabillys announce the addition to their staff an experienced long-time baseball executive, John Hunt. Hunt comes to the Rockabillys from the New Jersey Jackals ( Independent- Frontier League).
"The Rockabillys are proud to bring John onto our staff. He has a proven track record of sales and promotions within the industry and is a very experienced baseball guy," noted Dennis Bastien, President and GM of the Rockabillys," John has moved to Jackson and is raring to get started. He will be a tremendous asset for us and everyone in this area."
John Hunt started in radio at a small AM radio station at the age of 15. His radio career includes stops in Cleveland, Atlanta, Houston, Vegas until he purchased a radio station in Southern Oregon in 2015. In 2017 Hunt died twice and was brought back to life after serious heart issues. He received the gift of life with a Heart Transplant in May 2019 at the University Of Washington Hospital in Seattle. He attended American University in Washington, DC where he studied Political Science and History. His baseball career included six years (2009-2014) as the on field emcee and broadcaster for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. In the 2022 season, he left radio to become the General Manager of the Pierre Trappers (summer collegiate Exhibition League) where he won the Executive Of The Year Award. John was also a GM in Wilmington, NC and Paterson, NJ.

Then you add our Field Manager, Matty Holem and his 17 years of experience and 2026 will be an amazing season! I'm looking forward to meeting the local businesses and our fanbase at the ballpark.", said Hunt.
2026 Rockabillys Field Manager Matty Holem added "John Hunt is a fantastic addition to the Rockabilly's. He is a proven leader and has had success everywhere he has been. I have had the opportunity to get to know him from other leagues and have seen his success first hand. I look forward to seeing John and all the excitement he will help bring to the 2026 season."
The Rockabillys will kick off their fourth season at home against the the Dubois County Bombers on May 26th.
